Mission Statement and Aims

Men of all ages (MOAA) began in September 2000 in Newhills.
Our aim being to enable the men of the church and the parish to gather together regularly in a comfortable social basis to share fellowship with one another. We have developed links with some of the other Parishes in and around Aberdeen encouraging more men to join in and helping them form their own group and host MOAA meetings.

Bread being broken -We share a meal and our fellowship

Recognising that Jesus enjoyed sharing food as well as fellowship with his disciples and friends, it was decided that each meeting would start with a meal, and this would be followed by some sort of activity. The meals are usually cooked by the men themselves and are often linked in with the theme of the evening.

The activities are varied, ranging from quizzes, debate, potted sports and invited speakers to our own comedy sketches. And they have helped us discover hidden talents amongst the men and also see each other in a different light at times.

Some of the men who attend MOAA have also taken the opportunity to take part in some events organised specifically for men nationally and even internationally.

We meet regularly, continuing to develope strong bonds of friendship and fellowship. We'd love you to come and join us at any of our gatherings -there's always room for more! In Newhills we meet bi-monthly in the Church Hall, usually on the last Thursday of the month and our meetings are open to all men, irrespective of age.

We organise regular events for all of the different parish groups to participate in, with a different parish being encouraged to host each event. All are publicised in advance both in the weekly intimations and also highlighted around the individual church buildings. We will also advertise these on our events page and you can sign up to receive our newsletter which will also notify you of our upcoming events and projects.

If you wish to join your local MOAA group, information will be available at your local church or use our groups or contact us pages and we will be more than happy to help you.
If you would like to start an MOAA group in your parish you can use our contact us page to get in touch and we will be more than happy to give you any advice, assistance and information to help you. You will soon be hosting your own events.
